Gifts for the Wedding Party

Traditionally, the bride and groom give gifts to their attendants. These gifts are usually given at the rehearsal dinner. These gifts, usually small, show the appreciation of the bride and groom.

Grooms usually give their buddies small gifts that reflect some aspect of the group dynamic. If the guys like sports, they might receive drinking glasses or mugs with their favorite teams engraved on the glass. Another great idea is to make these mugs freezer ones so the beer will always be cold. If the guys share a fraternity relationship, the groom could give the guys something indicative of their fraternity. No matter the age fraternity brothers never tire of seeing their Greek letters.

There are other gifts that are appropriate for groomsmen. You can give them engraved cuff links, money clips, or key chains. Guys always like these items especially if they are engraved.

Bridesmaids are even easier to buy for. Girls love jewelry. One really great idea is to gift the bridesmaids with jewelry that will complement their bridesmaid’s outfits. That will be one less item to buy and they will be able to use the jewelry later. Most stores carry large numbers of jewelry sets made especially for this purpose. If you can’t find what you want in a store, try online shopping. Volume sales may be easier online.

If the bride is artistic, she might want to create the jewelry. If this is the case, the bride should begin as soon as she chooses her bridesmaids because jewelry making can be a long process. Making something personal is such a lovely idea but only if the bride has time. She cannot wait until the last minute to start making the jewelry because it is imperative for the bride to have plenty of rest before the wedding.

Another nice idea is to give the bridesmaids a bracelet with a charm engraved with the name of the couple and the date of the wedding. A sentimental memento like this is always thoughtful.

Buying the wedding party gifts should not be stressful. Planning a marriage should be a precious time in a couple’s life. Finding just the right present for the wedding party isn’t a chore; it should just be part of the fun.
